Hori slidepad3/24/2023 ![]() The controller is very big overall but the back grip and back shape of the controller is poorly designed as the back buttons are in the middle of the natural resting place for the fingers and I really miss a much bigger handler shape to grab and hold strongly the controller. Really good, I find it an essential purchase for handheld gamers like me.Īpart from the gyro absence that really should never be a problem as this is a handheld only controller and therefore the console gyro should be used by the software instead of relying in the controller gyro, for me the biggest issue with the controller to address in a V2 revision if someday comes up is the back part of the controller. ![]() It turns on with the home button but only after the power button was used first (and it has to be held) The dpad is good, just got done playing Tetris 99 and I have over 40 hours in that game Yeah, it can definitely be used quite well for more actiony games. It's the length of a switch case and a half The switch becomes a BIG boy with these on, similar to having the satisyfe grip. It's definitely comfortable for Medium/Large hands, I wouldn't say so for small hands however (Like children) The analog sticks are very nice and feel similar to a regular controller, no notice of drift (My regular joycons have that issue) I apologise for so many questions but I really appreciate if any owners answer some of them. And finally, what is your overall review of the controller? Does it drain the Switch's battery a lot while playing? Can you wake the Switch up with the home button or do you have to use power button instead? How is the D-pad? Is it decent/good for metroidvanias, Tetris 99 and platformers? Is it a decent controller for intense games such as Smash and Monster Hunter? With the controllers attached, does the Switch feel to wide? Is it comfortable even for someone with normal/medium and small hands? Are the analogue sticks good and do they drift? I'm aware all controllers can drift but I want to know if these are way better and sturdier than Joy-cons. I have been eyeing them for a while but I want some owners to give me their feedback if possible. Except one certain controller: Hori Split Pad Pro. Majority of them drift or have bad ergonomics. I looked at many 3rd party Joy Cons and the reviews are not exactly stellar. So I have been looking and searching for Joy Cons alternatives since I'm 100% handheld. I honestly don't want to spend insane amount of money on Joy Cons only for them to drift immediately. I had them since launch and they started to drift in late 2018 and got really worse after playing intense games such as Monster Hunter, Astral Chain and Smash (bad idea). Unfortunately, my Joy Cons are drifting extremely bad.
